definition：Corrosion is the destruction of metals by chemical action in their environment.
（1）Corrosive media corrodes key parts of flow measuring instruments in direct contact with media, causing damage and loss of function. For example, corrosion causes damage to the diaphragm of the differential pressure transmitter, leakage of silicone oil and complete failure.
（2）The key parts of flow measuring instrument are corroded by corrosive media for a long time and change the geometric size, resulting in the accuracy of the instrument is reduced. For example, the orifice flowmeter in the orifice parts are corroded by the fluid and the orifice size changes, which causes the outflow coefficient to change.
（3）Shorten the life of the instrument. For example, the vortex-generating body in vortex flowmeter, after several years of use, its welding with the surface body is rotten.
（4）Corrosive media leakage, if not found in time, timely treatment, but also easy to lead to safety and personal accidents.
Flow meter with corrosion resistance is preferred.
（1）General acidic medium (liquid, gas), liquid material with acid-resistant steel materials, such as stainless steel.
（2）The measuring tube is lined with corrosion resistant materials, such as polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), which has the best corrosion resistance.
In addition, the measurement scheme suitable for special conditions should be selected or the process flow and medium characteristics should be understood to avoid corrosive media.
There is no fixed solution for anticorrosion of flow measuring meters. New materials, new methods, new ideas are constantly applied in practice, in short, the most economical, the most accurate, the most suitable for the specific conditions of the scheme is the most reasonable.
